Labor Market Information

About

Know Before You Choose What careers are growing? What skills are employers looking for? What does a job really pay? And how do you know whether a career path is worth pursuing? Labor Market Information, or LMI, helps you answer those questions with data. In this self-paced quest, you will learn how to use trusted workforce resources like O*NET and the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics to explore occupations, industries, wages, skills, and employment trends. Instead of relying on assumptions, headlines, or what you have heard from others, you will learn how to investigate the workforce for yourself. You will explore: What different careers actually involve Which skills employers value most What occupations typically pay Where jobs are growing and changing How education, experience, and skills connect to career opportunities Most importantly, you will learn how to use this information alongside your own interests, strengths, and goals. LMI is not about letting data choose your career. It is about giving you a clearer view of your options so you can make informed choices about your major, experiences, skills, and next steps. Your career is your decision. LMI helps you make that decision with better information.
